If people are wondering whether POC are appropriating western culture within the USA and Europe, they're not. I just want to point out that POC have to assimilate into the western culture, whether by conscious choice or not. If you don't there is a higher chance of you being ridiculed in the school environment or wherever else. This is just my assumptions, feel free to correct me.

PoC are asked (not really asked more like pressured through discrimination or like you said unconsciously white-washed) to assimilate and adopt certain standards within Western cultures to seem “acceptable.”
