Anonymous asked: this is a different anon. i find kpop fanfics or any kind of rpf fanfic offensive/disturbing because they're about real people. its like fanfic writers think they have an idea what an idol would say/do, and they really don't have that right because that idol is a real person who has they own sense of agency that can't simply be written down or predicted especially in some fanfic. imo kpop fanfics dehumanize idols since they portray them as fictional characters (which they're not).
But the same argument can be made that idols are portraying characters on stage. To say that an idol is real person- yeah they are a real person, they are human. But what they portray on stage isn’t neccassarily how they are all the time.
Often times performers consider themselves two people- the person they portray on stage and who they are in everyday life. You have to remember that an idol is doing their job onstage, but their lives are private matters. And fans often can’t separate the two.
I honestly think it is a matter of preference. If you think that smut fanfiction about a “real” person is wrong, well don’t read it.
Fanfics that contain things like rape ARE wrong because they perpetuate a violent sex crime as normal sex act.
